Close to the big city of Atlanta, Roswell is home to the Ansley Golf Club, which was designed by Bob Cupp. It is a relatively flat course that is great for walking. The course winds its way around a scenic river and offers beautiful scenery. Not only is the course scenic, but it requires a great amount of strategy and skill. There are large trees and untouched areas that are sure to be a challenge. If you choose to set up a tee time at this course, be sure to take some time to visit the neighboring winery.
Hawks Ridge Golf Club
Also designed by Bob Cupp, Hawks Ridge Golf Club is within a private community of Atlanta that is seclusive and stresses the importance of the golfer’s experience. The course has hills and is often used for the U.S. Open qualifying course.
Atlanta Country Club
This course was built in 1964 and has all the feelings of an old school course. Nestled in historic Civil War sites and the Chattahoochee River, this courses scenery is a site to see. It is a noteworthy course because of the changes of elevation that create a challenge, end each hole provides it’s own distinct difficulties, making it a fun and difficult trial.
Atlanta Athletic Club
This course is in Johns Creek, one of Atlanta’s surrounding areas. This course was the site of the PGA Championship in 2011 and has hosted many events over the years. The greens are sloped and require a great amount of skill and strategy. It is always manicured and is sure to provide even the best golfers with a challenge.
East Lake Golf Club
Home of the Tour Championship each ear, and the course known for Tiger Woods’ free golf festival. The course has well thought out holes and the lake provides beautiful scenery as well as a challenge to the golfers.
